Well, as of last week it’s official: Laura Van Gilder got the nod from USA Cycling to represent the US at the 2010 Cyclocross World Championships!! This is an awesome feat for Laura who, in just her sophomore season of cross, will now be making the trip to Europe for her second Cross Worlds appearance. US Cyclocross coach Marc Gullickson was again impressed not only by her multiple UCI victories but also by her season long consistency over a variety of courses, as well as her excellent 5th place ride at US Nationals.
Worlds are slated for 31 January in Tabor, Czech Republic. As it’s a substantial trip, several “Friends of LVG” are organizing a donation site, as well as some upcoming races in January, to help offset the costs for her. Look for more information on this in the next few days as we get the ball rolling to send Laura to Tabor.
