Weekend Report

Labor Day weekend saw lots of good racing locally. Friday night was the Wilkes Barre Twilight Crit. If there were a “Most Aggressive Rider” award, it would certainly have gone to Matt Spohn.  Matt was present in every single break effort of the night and ultimately found himself in the winning move of 7.  Having done the lions share of the work, Matt came home 6th for the night, a great showing against several pros and ex pro break companions. Matt Swiatek also did a great job to finish the race, which saw many riders succumb to the pace. Saturdays Phillipsburg Crit saw several clients take to the line. In the 35+ event, Kevin Keane came to play team support for one of his guys in top position in the GS Cup, and did a great job. In the 1/2/3 race, both Matt’s, Dave Wells, and new client Gui Nelessen, took the line. Both Gui and Matt Spohn made one of the several splits to come in 9th and 10th respectively, while Dave and Matt Swiatek rode hard and finished in the field. Basking Ridge on Monday capped off the racing. Missing the winning break, Spohn did a lions share of the work to bring it back but to no avail, and Gui surfed home 9th in the field sprint for 13th on the day.

Most clients have now wrapped the road season, while for Matt Spohn the years final road event looms this weekend in the Univest GP. Beyond that we move into full on cyclocross mode where more results are sure to come.
